A non-invasive treatment modality for balancing and nourishing yourself energetically.
Reiki is often thought of as a hands-on healing technique. It is, but it is more than that. In addition to being a healing practice (for yourself or others), it’s also a spiritual practice and very much about personal development. Many people learn Reiki as part of their own self-care and healing, or to be able to support loved ones.
A Reiki treatment is usually very relaxing, leaving clients with reduced stress and a greater sense of wellbeing. It is also possible to change negative or limiting beliefs through Reiki as well (as with Matrix Reimprinting), helping clients transform themselves for greater health and happiness.
Reiki is many things. It both refers to “universal energy” and the system of how this is used for healing, personal development and a spiritual practice.
There are many systems of Reiki. The one I practice is formally referred to as Usui Shiki Ryoho (AKA the Usui System of Natural Healing), which is generally what is thought of as the traditional Reiki system that acknowledges Johannes Reindl as the grandmaster and lineage bearer (previously Phyllis Furumoto).
I’m a Reiki Master in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system. I love to teach, so I offer both treatments and courses.
A standard treatment is conducted by placing the hands gently on or slightly above the body according to a client’s comfort level, while the client lays on a massage table or sits in a chair in comfortable clothing.
Science can’t explain how Reiki works yet, but you can think of it as being nourished and balanced energetically. You may experience both emotional, mental and physical benefits.
Although typically done as part of Matrix Reimprinting, it is also possible to change negative or limiting beliefs through Reiki as well, helping clients transform themselves for greater health and happiness.
While there is mystery around energy work, what we can say is that everything is energy and energy work is nothing new. To quote Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, Biochemist and Nobel Prize Winner:
“In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.”
A treatment is typically one hour, but this can vary depending on client wishes.
Prior to the first treatment, a thorough consultation is conducted, which is free of charge. The duration of this depends on your condition and medical history, but it generally takes about 30 minutes.
If you have any questions or would like to book an appointment, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
You Can Learn Reiki!
There are three levels of Usui Shiki Ryoho (Reiki) training
Comprises four attunements to Reiki, so that you can do Reiki for yourself, friends, animals and plants.
Teaches three sacred symbols and their use, as well as Reiki as a professional practice. You need Reiki 2 in order to treat the public in the UK.
Passes on the attunement process, so that you can teach Reiki. Awards the ‘Master’ title, though you will always be a student as well 🙂
In terms of being a healing system, Reiki is passed on to students via attunements.
An attunement is a is a short, non-invasive, ritual, which has allowed Reiki to be shared and used by so many people around the world.
The 5 Precepts
In addition to being a treatment modality, Reiki practitioners adopt five precepts (principles) to guide daily living, personal development and ethical behaviour. The principles stem from the Meiji Emperor of Japan (1868–1912), which Mikao Usui adopted as part of Reiki.
Just for today, do not worry
Just for today, do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers, and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude to every living thing
Reiki 1 and 2 are taught as two-day week-end courses, including a comprehensive manual for each course.
We are currently unable to offer any courses due to a focus on expanding and deepening other services at Ephemeral Energy. New courses will be advertised later, but feel free to get in touch to let us know if you are interested in learning, and we can let you know when courses become available or point you in the direction of other teachers in the area.
